Rivers Crisis: NADECO USA urges Tinubu to call Wike to order before it’s too late *Thrown weighty behind Gov. Fubara

By Matthias Ogbagah

RIVERS – As the Rivers State political crisis degenerates every second, a coalition group, the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), has called on President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to call the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mr. Nyson Wike, to order before it’s too late.
The position of NADECO on the current political crisis ravaging the political landscape of the Rivers State was contained in a press release dated November 5, 2024, signed by its President /CEO of NADECO USA, Lloyd F. Ukwu, Esquire, and made available to Rainbow Newspaper.
The press release expressed concerns and worries over the continuous silence of Mr. President on the crisis that led to the unwanted destruction of public properties.
The press release reads in part; “NADECO is closely monitoring the situation in Rivers State with great concern.
“There is notable silence from Tinubu, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the scenes and, therefore, responsible for the ongoing events in Rivers State.
“To resolve the crisis, Tinubu simply needs to meet with Mr. Wike, the FCT minister, and instruct him to stop the burning of government property and the instigation of the crisis in the state.
“Many are perplexed as to why Tinubu has not intervened by instructing Wike to focus on his role as FCT minister and stay away from Rivers State’s political affairs.
While attributing Tinubu’s long silence on the crisis that bedeviled the state to his 2027 presidential bid, NADECO states unequivocally that; “The reason behind Tinubu’s inaction is his political ambitions for 2027, as he relies on Wike to maintain the political structure in Rivers State and to manipulate the APC presidential election in FCT in 2027”.
NADECO strongly believes that Tinubu and Wike’s close relationship and
strange fellowship is detrimental to the people of Rivers State.
“The political power struggle, seemingly between Fubara and Wike, is a
distraction, it is designed to ignite existing fault lines, such as upland vs
riverine, Ijaw vs Ikwerre, PDP vs APC, and more, leading to division and
conflict among the people of Rivers State.
“Tinubu and Wike’s actions constitute clear and present dangers to not only Rivers State but to the economic well-being of Nigeria, and while they may not anticipate the huge consequences that would soon erupt in the Niger Delta region, it is brewing. It is evident that Tinubu and Wike prioritize POWER, political party, and their inordinate ambitions over the well-being of Nigeria.
“We must caution them that those who ride on the back of a tiger end up
in the belly of the tiger. The Niger Delta is not Lagos state, it is a very complex, angry, and multi-ethnic region.
“NADECO unreservedly stands in support of Mr. Fubara and the people of Rivers State in their fight against the combined forces of godfatherism and gangsterism orchestrated by Tinubu and Wike.
“NADECO urges the people of Rivers State to continue striving for democracy, the rule of law, accountability, and good governance”, he urged.
