Delta Economic/Investment Summit: Akeni Hails Oborevwori, Says Summits Will Unlock Delta’s Huge Potentials

The Executive Director, Technical Services Finest Investment Limited, a company committed to promote development of Green Islands, Ukpokiti Industrial and Resort City project, Warri South local government area, Delta State, Chief Charles Okiroro Akeni, KSC, FIPMA, FNES, FIMC, has commended Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for positioning the state as a major destination for global investment.

Akeni congratulated Governor Oborevwori for what he described as a bold initiative to “harness the strength and unlock the potentials” of Delta State for sustainable economic development.

According to him, “The summit is a mission fulfilment, a result of deliberate investment missions to China and Brazil to attract foreign investors and to establish strategic economic partnerships for the state sometimes July 2025.

“That singular mission that birthed this summit has presented Delta to the world as a state ready for serious investment.

“Delta State can no longer depend solely on oil revenue, stressing that Delta possesses enormous agricultural, industrial and natural resources capable of supporting a diversified and sustainable economy.

According to him, encouraging such Summits in the state will unlock the huge potential of the blessings of the State.

“Who would have known that Delta State has over 200 million Tons of Coal, much more than the renowned, much talked about Enugu, which has only 80 million tons? Who would have known that there is a rare earth mineral (black earth) in millions of tons in Delta State? The price of this mineral per ton is beyond imagination”, he stated.

According to him, the summit gives investors the opportunity to physically assess the “fertile soil” of Delta State and identify areas where their investments can generate returns while contributing to the economic advancement of the state.

His words: the summit has created a unique platform for foreign investors to explore investment opportunities in the state while partnering with local investors, businesses and government to unlock the enormous economic potential of Delta.

He urged investors to take advantage of the vast opportunities across the state, saying that several of Delta’s resources remain underdeveloped or completely untapped.
