IBADAN – Oyo State Police command confirmed the death of ten persons in an Ibadan building collapse in the remote area of the ancient city of Ibadan.
The Oyo State Police Command, through a statement issued and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident.
SP Osifeso noted that eight victims are currently receiving treatment in undisclosed hospitals following various degrees of injuries they sustained in the cause of the accident.
A copy of the statement made available to The Rainbow Newspaper in Ibadan reads in part ” Today being Thursday 31/10/2024 around 0200hrs, a story building located around Ojugbele, Jegede area, Ogbere collapsed leading to the immediate loss of (10) ten lives while (8) eight other currently battling with various degrees of live threatening injuries.
“Adequate security has currently been placed in the area to prevent hoodlums from taking over the incident scene and as well protect the lives and property of other residents within the Jurisdiction.
“Investigation is ongoing at the moment to unravel the possible circumstance that could have led to the incident.
