Prof. Utuama Passage: Delta has lost a great Son, an Academia says Delta Former SSG, Macaulay
Former Secretary to Delta State Government, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay, has described the demised of the former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Prof. Amos Agbedia Utuama, as a great lost to the Urhobo Nation in particular and Delta in general.
Macaulay stated this in his condolence statement to the immediate family of the renowned law teacher, lauding the enormous contributions of the late SAN to governance in Delta State and Nigeria at large.
He said; “I received the news of the death of my Boss and friend, Prof Amos Utuama with sense of loss. He was a strong legal pillar behind the State and South South during the struggle for resource control. His dedication to justice and the rule of law, are worthy of emulation.
“Prof Amos Utuama was like a father to us during State Executive Council meetings. I personally, gained a lot from his vast experience which he brought to bear during critical discussions in Exco.
“His contributions at State Security Council meetings particularly during the Warri crisis were enormous. He will equally be remembered for his mentoring role to most of us that served together in Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration between 2007 to 2015.
“Isoko Nation as an ethnic nationality in Delta State will forever remembered Prof Amos Utuama for his contributions to the accreditation of the Law Faculty of the Delta State University, Oleh Campus when he put his entire Library at the disposal of the Law Department.
“On behalf of my family and esteem followers, I commiserate with the Utuama family of Otu- Jeremi in the Ughievwen Kingdom of Ughelli South local government area of Delta State, and pray God to accept the deceased’s soul and grant fortitude to the family and friends he left to bear the loss.”
