UGHELLI – Former Vice Chancellor, VC, of Federal University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Professor S.W. E Ibodje has joined rest of Deltans to mourn the demise of the former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Prof Amos Agbe Utuama SAN.

The former University Don, Prof. Ibodje in a statement said the news of the passage to glory of the former Delta State Deputy Governor, Prof Amos Agbe Utuama came as a shock to him.

He described the Ex – University Don as a model of humility among persons blessed with power and wealth that can’t be easily replaced, saying the demise of his bossom friend is a special loss to him.

The statement reads in part; “My dear friend, Prof Amos Agbe Utuama, the news of your passage to glory came to me, but I didn’t want to believe that you were no more. Yet, four days have passed and no one has come to say that it was a fake news.

“Prof, you shouldn’t have died now. Our paths cross 15 years ago, and in our own nature of society, where party politics often creates gulves between relations, you became the bridge that facilitated my easy circulations across political barriers.

“Thus, your demise is a special loss to me. But to the wider society of the Urhobo nation, you were a model of humility among persons blessed with power and wealth that can’t be easily replaced. And since I can’t question our Creator why he has chosen to call you to himself now, I pray that you find rest in his bosom. Amen. We are parting to surely meet again in eternity”.
