Land Grabbers: Oteri-PG, Egbenana Sends Strong Warning To Buyers, Reads Riot Acts To Racketeers

OTERI-UGHELLI – Irked by the activities of some unscrupulous elements – land grabbers in Oteri-Ughelli community, Ughelli North local government area, the President General of Oteri community, Chief Simon Egbenana, has handed down a strong warning to all prospective land buyers to seek clarification from the community’s Land Administrative Committee (LAC) before any payment.
Egbenana handed down the warning in a press statement personally signed by him while reading the riot act to the suspected land-grabbers and their co-travellers (racketeers) operating in the community under disguise to desist or else they should prepare to face the full wrath of the law.
According to him, it has come to the notice of the community that the activities of land grabbers who are known for selling other people’s lands under a pretence to one or more persons.
Lamenting further, he said, these stupid elements in the community go the extra mile to sell the same plot of land to more than three persons, thereby bringing the good name of the community to disrupt.
According to him, “Oteri-Ughelli community has taken decisive measures to curb the menace of land – grabbers in the community.
While advising potential land buyers and the general public to notify and seek clarification from the Land Administrative Committee of the community before any payment, he named the affected land areas to be included: Imowhe/Ovre Axis lands, Uloho Avenue lands, Upper Agbarho lands and other Oteri lands.
Egbenana stated further that if anybody buy plot of land or lands in the affected areas without the notification of the land administrative committee of the community dose so at his or her risk.
