WARRI – The Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Community Development, Hon. Emakpor Odogu, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE AGENDA Mantra, saying it has a significant impact on the overall development of the state.
Odogu made the commendation while playing guest on Delta Broadcast Services’ (DBS) Morning Ride program.
Hon. Odogu praised the governor’s efforts, particularly in infrastructural development, noting that Oborevwori’s administration has brought transformative changes across the State’s three senatorial districts.
He lauded the governor for the creation of a ministry dedicated to the riverine infrastructural development, led by Commissioner Hon. Ebikeme Clarke, in response to local demands.
He pointed out that Warri has become a hub of construction activity, with notable projects at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout, and Enerhen Junction, carried out by Julius Berger, saying that travelers passing through the State would be surprised at the level of development.
Beyond road infrastructure, Hon. Odogu mentioned that the government has approved substantial funding for medical equipment at Central Hospital Warri and Teaching Hospital Oghara and is set to renovate 150 health centers across the state.
He also noted a significant financial commitment to primary education, with Exco approval of N3.55 billion counterpart funding to the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) for improving primary schools.
Hon. Odogu emphasized that the MORE Agenda positively affects all 25 local government areas, with a swipe approval of road projects in 23 LGA in a single Exco meeting.
He praised the harmonious relationship between state and local governments, which has fostered rapid community development.
He commended the government’s efforts in promoting peace and resolving long-standing conflicts in the state, citing the Ogbe-Ijaw/Aladja crises and the recent Okuama/Okoloba crises.
