UGHELLI – THE Divisional Police Officer (DPO) ‘A’ Division Ughelli CSP Sadiq Mana, has again read the riot act to criminals in Ughelli and its environs, warning them to stay away from the State or be ready to face fire, especially during the Ember months.
Mana, during a sensitization meeting with local security operatives in the division, said although the Ember Months are associated with a high rate of crime, Ughelli North Council would be a no-go area for criminals and hoodlums during the period.
“I want to send a strong signal to those hoodlums in the criminal world that Ughelli north council area is a no-go area and we will not have any room for criminals, adding that it will be better for them to keep away from the State not only during the Ember months but at all times.
According to him, Criminals and men of the underworld are better advised to keep away from the Ughelli North council area, not only during this period but at all times, because the council area will be made uncomfortable for them during the period.
CSP Mana said the Police and the sister security operatives in the council area have concluded their plan in terms of the strategies and logistics to apply during the months to ensure the safety of life and property in the council.
Ughelli North council area is no longer a place for criminals, he noted.
According to him, the Ughelli North council is very calm, and our crime rate has reduced drastically. We are preparing our officers for the ‘ember’ months.
“We are ready for the criminals. We have started giving our officers the right orientation in these ‘ember’ months on how to checkmate the bandits within the state.
“We have started redeploying our police officers to the flashpoints. We will flush out the bandits terrorizing people in some communities in Oviri-Ogor, Evwreni, and Edjekota and their environs.
“Also, we are mounting 48-hour surveillance. To this end, we deployed some intelligence operatives (SIB) after the bandits to catch them unaware.
