Delta Community commends DFA Chairman, Adode, urges him to revamp Football in the state

Oil bearing community of Delta State, Ododegho community in Ughelli north local government area if Delta State, has commended newly inaugurated chairman of Delta State Football Association (DFA), Olorogun Hon. Godwin Adode, fondly known as Coach Tete for his well deserved victory and inauguration as chairman Delta State Football Association (DFA).

The elders and leaders including PDP chieftains of the oil bearing community made the commendation at the community while according him a rousing home coming reception as the immediate past chairman of Ughelli north council and chairman, Delta State chairman of Football Association.

Delivering his speech, the elated DFA chairman, after an opposed election at the sports house, Asaba, was said to be overwhelmed by the sea of heads that graced the reception ceremony organized by the “Ododegho community of the time.”

In his speech, he berated his critic, who vowed that he would never see any government office in his lifetime.
He said, ” My journey to Ughelli North council seat was rough and turbulent; my first three years in office, there was no money in the council,l yet I am among the only two council chairmen in the state to build and commission a project.

“My tenure as a chairman of the council influenced a lot of development and employment to the citizenry of the council area as many dilapidated public structures, and school buildings near to collapse were refurbished.

“My administration provides transformers, Desks, and writing materials to primary schools across the council area.

“My administration embarked on rehabilitation of failed portions of roads and construction of roads in the council area.

“I influenced the construction of the Ekiugbo/Ododegho community road that has been abandoned for docking of years, also a Water project, a Health center, and construction of six classroom blocks with well-equipped furniture, administrative and principal office in Ododegho secondary school.

“As a lover of sport, I rehabilitated Ughelli Township Stadium, rehabilitated Ughelli/Ogor ultra-modern market, also rehabilitated the dilapidated council secretariat and legislative house.”

Speaking to newsmen, the trio of Benjamin Umukoro, Friday Okpe, and Madam Ochuko Ovwoba commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for considering their son worthy of being the chairman of Delta State Football Association (DFA), noting that his election as the chairman of DFA would bring more development to the community.

According to them, the Ekiugbo/Ododegho road was awarded during Governor James Ibori’s administration at the cost of N1.8B but was abandoned until Hon. Godwin Adode used his good offices as the executive chairman of Ughelli of Ughelli North Council to influence the road into Delta State budget during Governor Okowa’s administration.
“Adode’s tenure brought a lot of developments to the community; he brought a health center, he built a secondary school for the community, he built and commissioned a water project for the community, and gave employment to the indigenes of the community.
“He made the sons and daughters of the community as head of the various departments in the council area; he made us feel the impact of PDP and the dividend of democracy in the community.”

Also speaking, the duo Hon. Akpotu Eyamu and comrade Emmanuel Kporhoro, commended the DFA chairman for his well-deserved victory and sworn in, adding that his tenure as chairman of Ughelli north chairman ushered a lot of developments to the council area.

Addressing newsmen, the newly inaugurated chairman of Delta State Football Association (DFA), Hon. Godwin Adode, berated his critics, adding that his tenure as the chairman of Ughelli North brought about a facelift to the entire council area.
While asked about expectations of Deltans and Nigerians as a whole as a chairman of DFA, he said, his office will outline the Youth Football program in the state, we will develop the youths, and go back to the drawing board to discover more talented youths out there.
“My office will work with the incoming commissioner for sports and corporate bodies to develop the sport in Delta State.

” It is painful that Delta State did not have prayers in the nation U-17, 20, and Super Eagle”, he lamented.
While calling for unity among the sons and daughters of the community, he warned against politics of hatred and pull him-down syndrome penetrated by some supposed leaders in the council area.
Adode assured that come 2027, he will boot out the All Progressive Congress APC and other political parties from the community to make Ododegho community a PDP community.
