UGHELLI – A chieftain of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Ughelli’s North local government area, Chief Edafevwotu Akpos, has predicted PDP victory ahead of the upcoming 2027 general elections in the State.

Chief Akpos made the assertation at the weekend in Ughelli during the formal inauguration of the Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu federal constituency forum held at Oharisi primary school, Ughelli Delta State.

According to him, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has paid his dues. The undeniable infrastructural development and bridges built by his administration are a testament that he means well for the state, and it has earned him his second tenure.

Akpos, who is the Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Oil and Gas matters, commended the organizers of Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency Forum, saying with the inauguration of the Forum, the chance of PDP winning the governor seat and the twenty-five seats of the house of assembly come 2027 is sure.

While congratulating the newly inaugurated executive members of the Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu federal constituency forum, he appealed to the chairman of the 3UUUs Forum, Chief John Oguma, the ‘Udu’ of Olomu kingdom, to use his good offices and connections to woo more people to the PDP’s fold.

“The Forum should work assiduously to ensure that the mistakes of the past that led to the failure of the party in some local government areas of the Ughelli north/Ughelli south/Udu federal constituency do not repeat itself.”

Commenting on the mass defection from the main opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party in Delta State, the People Democratic Party (PDP), he said that Deltans have come to know that the opposition parties in the state have nothing to offer.

“I welcome back our brothers and sisters who have been wandering in the political wilderness to the PDP family; I encourage them to commit fully to the party’s success in future elections.”
