AGBARHO – As an unending political defection wave swept across political lines in the country to the ruling party at the central, a former stalwart of the defunct People Democratic Party, PDP, in Ughelli north council area, Chief Edafevwotu Akpos has formerly registered as as a bonafide member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Delta State.

Speaking to journalists shortly after he was duly registered by his ward chairman, Chief Mayor Okeh, he said it became pertinent for all former members of PDP faithful in the twenty-five (25) local government areas of the state to follow the directives of the governor, Rt. Hon.. Sheriff Oborevwori.

Akpos, who is an Executive Assistant EA to Governor Sheriff Obirevwori of Delta State on Oil and Gas matters, noted that the fusion of PDP Delta State with APC Delta State is the best political marriage in the history of the state since its creation.

Speaking on the benefits of fusion, he noted, “The recent political alignment in the state connects the state to the government at the center and brings development to the state”.

While calling on all Deltans to join Delta APC, he commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the leadership of APC, both at the national and Delta State levels, for warmly receiving them into the APC family fold.

He promised to work with the party leader to deliver President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the coming 2027 general elections.

On his part, the ward chairman, Chief Mayor Okeh, assured all new entrants of equal opportunities, adding that there are no new and old members of the APC Delta State.

“We are going to work together, there are no ‘New and Old’ Members, we are all one, and we must come together for the growth and progress of the party, he stated.
