*Says his discontinuance with the case is in the interest of PDP

UGHELLI – The Special Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on community development, Evangelist Nicholas Evwienure, has withdrawn his court actions against the government of Delta State, Ughelli North council boss, Hon. Jaro Egbo, and security agencies in the state over alleged illegal eviction from his place of abode.
In his letter of withdrawal to the High Court of Justice Delta State Ughelli Division in Suit No.UHC/228/2024 dated 20th day of December 2024 captured, “Notice of Discontinuance of the suit without leave brought under the inherent jurisdiction of this honorable court
“Take notice: That the Claimant hereby withdraws this suit against the Defendants wholly and in its entirety”.
Evwienure said his discontinuance with the case is in the best interest of the ruling political party in the state, the People Democratic Party ( PDP), ahead of the 2027 general election.
While addressing journalists at Ughelli on Tuesday during the pressing briefing, he said, “I welcome you all to this historic press briefing today, Tuesday 24th December 2024, to tell the whole world the reasons for withdrawing my court case with Suit No. UHC/228/2024 in The High Court of Justice, Delta state of Nigeria, in the Ughelli Judicial Division against the government of Delta State, executive chairman of Ughelli North Council, and three others.
“First, I want to use this medium to humbly Salute and appreciate the fatherly leadership and democratic principle of my Boss, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State.
“It is worthy of note that after due consultation with leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and other leaders of thought in the state in consultation with my legal counsel on the above subject matter, I found out that it’s a case of a family affair, and the best option is to resolve it out of court settlement”.
The Holy Scriptures say,” To err is human, but to forgive is divine.” A son can not call his father for a contest.
“Having considered the advice of the elders and leaders of our great party (PDP), I, EVANG COMRADE NICHOLAS EVWIENURE JP, the claimant in the above-mentioned court case with Suit No. UHC/228/2024 in The High Court of Justice, Delta state of Nigeria, in the Ughelli Judicial Division, hereby wholeheartedly stated as follows:
“I withdraw all my court cases against the five Defendants; Delta State Government, Delta Development and Property Authority (DDPA), The Executive Chairman Ughelli North LGA, The Commissioner of Police Delta State and
the Commander Nigeria Army Delta state for the best interest of our great party, PDP, and the state as a whole.
“l know my decision to withdraw my court case against the government of Delta State and others from the court will cause the enemies of our dear state a big embarrassment and disappointment, but I do not regret my decision to settle out of court and not owe anyone an apology.”
