Adode Emerge, Inaugurated as Chairman of Delta State Football Association

* As he promised to improve on the achievements of his predecessors and take the DFA to greater heights

ASABA – THE immediate past chairman of Ughelli North local government area of Delta State, Olorogun Hon. Godwin Adode, a.k.a Coach Tete, has emerged as the chairman of Delta State Football Association (DFA) in an unopposed election.
While declaring Adode as the winner of the election held at the Sports House, Asaba, the Delta State capital, the chairman of the electoral committee, Mr. Israel Odibeli, disclosed that the position of the chairman was unopposed.
Olorogun Adode was inaugurated alongside eight other members of the association’s executive committee members include, including Mr. Neville Ambakederemo of Burutu Local as Vice Chairman and seven other members representing different local government areas of the state.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Adode expressed his gratitude to the delegates for their trust and implicit confidence in him. He also thanked the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for the opportunity to serve in the sports ministry.
He promised not to disappoint the stakeholders but to hold firm to the ideals and philosophy of the association.
” I will improve on the achievements of my predecessors and take the DFA to greater heights; I will not disappoint the stakeholders but hold firm unto the ideals and philosophy of the association.”
The election cum inauguration ceremony was attended by the cream of representatives of football bodies and other stakeholders in the sport.
Earlier, in his opening remarks, the outgoing chairman of the DFA, Mr. Kenneth Nwaomucha, thanked the representatives of football bodies for their support during his tenure. He solicited their support for the incoming executive committee, led by Chief Adode.
Mr. Nwaomucha expressed pride in his achievements as chairman of the DFA, citing the association’s success in winning trophies and reaching finals under his leadership. He also commended the collective efforts of his executives and the support from the National body.
Nwaomucha disclosed that the DFA had conducted elections for chairmen across the 25 local government areas of the state, which formed part of the delegates present at the congress.
The inauguration of the new executive committee marks a new chapter in the annal of the Delta State Football Association. With Chief Adode at the helm, the association is expected to achieve greater success and promote football development in the state.
