Wike-Fubara Rift: PANDEF Sets Up Reconciliation Committee, Vow To Address Source Rift

DELTA – Disturbed by the lingering rift between the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike and governor of Rivers State, a Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, “Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF)) has announced that a High-Level Peace and Reconciliation Committee has been set up to address the source of the rift.

According to the National Publicity Secretary of PANDEF, Chief Dr. Obiuwevbi Christopher Ominimini Ph.D led by Chief Obong Victor Attah, former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, is to address ongoing tensions between Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, as well as other conflicts in the Niger Delta.

Speaking further, he disclosed that the committee that was formed during PANDEF’s recent Special General Assembly in Port Harcourt had prominent leaders such as Senator Emmanuel Ibok-Essien and Senator Stella Omu.

PANDEF’s spokesperson, Dr. Obiuwevbi Ominimini, promised to resolve all regional issues and restore peace.
The group called on all levels of government and local organizations to support PANDEF’s efforts, pledging that this initiative will comprehensively address the sources of tension across the South-South geopolitical zone.
