Roads Construction: Bozimo Eulogies Oborevwori, Promised To Prioritise Plights Of His Maternal Brethren
By Matthias Ogbagah
OTERI-UGHELLI – Former Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo has eulogised the Delta State governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the construction of internal roads in Oteri-Ughelli, Ughelli North local government area, Delta State.

Bozimo made the commendation recently at Oteri-Ughelli when the families of ERORHA and AVWEYAGBORDE of the great ITIVE DYNASTY and elders, and leaders of Ogbe Ighelle (Ighelle street) accorded him a rousing and grand reception to his grandmother’s home, Oteri-Ughelli for influencing the Delta State government to construct the Ighelle street.
In a welcome speech presented by (Dr) Comrade Matthias Ogbagah on behalf of the entire families of Erorhora, Avweyagborde, elders, and leaders of Ogbe Ighelle in Oteri- Ughelli thanked the former Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo for his leadership, determination, and selfless action single‑handedly turning a long-standing community need into reality by influencing the Delta State government to tarred the Ighelle street.

The speech reads in part;
“On behalf of the elders and all members of Ighelle Street in Oteri-Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State. We welcome you warmly to this special gathering.
“First, we would like to thank our brother, father, and uncle, Chief Alaowei Broderick Bozimo for leading this effort. Your vision, dedication, and hands-on commitment transformed an idea into a street road that will serve generations.

“We are gathered today to celebrate not just a completed job, but the spirit that made it possible. I stand before you to honour our own Alaowei Broderick Bozimo, whose leadership, determination, and selfless action single‑handedly turned a long-standing community need into reality by influencing the Delta State government to tar our street, and he personally oversaw the tarring of our street, not for recognition but out of love for the street and the community as a whole.

“Today we do more than welcome our own — we celebrate his selfless act that has changed our street for the better.
“We now have a safer street for our children to walk on, cleaner surroundings for our homes, easier access for visitors and emergency services, and renewed pride in the place we all call home. His vision and generosity have made everyday life better for every one of us.
“On behalf of the elders and all residents of Ogbe Ighelle of the great Itive dynasty of Oteri Ughelli, we express our heartfelt gratitude.
We are grateful not only for the road itself but for the spirit of service you have shown — a spirit we hope will inspire others to follow”.
“Sir, as the Oliver twins, we need street lights. Tarred roads make travel safer during the day, but without lighting, we remain vulnerable at night. Street lights will deter crime, protect pedestrians, help our children and elderly move around after dark, and allow our local businesses to thrive longer hours.
While calling on him to use his good offices and connections to secure employment and appointments for the youths and women of the street, Ogbagah expressed the family’s dissatisfaction noting that none of the family members in Ogbe-Ighelle is a staff or appointee of the Delta State government in despite of their huge contributions to the growth and development of the state.
“Sir, it may interest you to know that the street has produced a lot of graduates from different fields of professions, and they actively participated and ensured the victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the last general elections.
“We are calling on you to use your good offices, position and influence to get jobs for our young graduates and street youths of the street”.
Responding, he assured that the plights of the street will be channelled to the state governor for immediate action.
“I will convey the plights of the street alongside this speech, and I believe he will attend to it because he respects me and listens to me a lot”.
The highlight of the occasion is the presentation of a picture frame by the family as a small token of appreciation.
