2027: Political Tsunami, Mass Defection Hits Delta Political Landscape As Omo-Agege Storms, Ughelli, Agbarho

As the 2027 general elections draw near, the Delta State political landscape on Wednesday, July 29, 2027, witnessed yet another political tsunami, massive defections of political members across all political parties, as the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District, DSP Ovie Omo-Agege, stormed Ughelli, the administrative headquarters of Ughelli North local government area, Delta State.
Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, who was accomplished with the NDC House of Representatives candidate for Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu federal constituency, Chief Dr Christopher Obiuwevwi Ominimini, NDC Candidate for Ughelli constituency I, Mr Jimmy Idiovwa, NDC Candidate for Ughelli constituency II, Dr Abel Izomare Oharume, the party’s state chairman, LGA chairman and top officials, leaders and stakeholders was received at Ughelli Kingdom Hall with rousing ovation.
Addressing the mammoth crowd that throned out to receive him, he expressed shock as the hall filled to its capacity and outside with many scrambling to behold him, shouting Ovie Omo-Agege, the Messiah of the Urhobo nation.
Omo-Agege, in Ughelli, promised the mammoth crowd of even development of the Delta Central Senatorial District if elected come 2027 general election.
He noted that during his days as a senator representing the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District, as a senator and Deputy Senate President, every community in Delta Central has his imprint as a testimony of his achievements.
According to him, his developmental strides vary from one community to another community, while some have roads, street lights, school furniture, Transformers others have tertiary institutions and others.
“The Federal Polytechnic, Orogun and the Nigeria Army Airspace in Orogun are not meant for Orogun people alone; it is for the Urhobos, Deltans and Nigerians as a whole”, he stated.
Speaking on why he decided to go back to the Senate House, he said, he has made grievous mistakes that needed to be corrected by single handedly nominate and begged the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District to vote Sen. Ede Dafinone for Senate and Rev. Francis Waive for House of Representatives in the 2023 general elections.
While lamenting the high level of underdevelopment of the Delta Central Senatorial District and hunger since he left office, he said that no meaningful development has been done in all the kingdoms of Delta Central.
He accused the duo of Senator Ede Dafinone and Rt. Hon. Francis Waive for sleeping at red and green chambers while their colleagues are busying attracting companies, industries, empowerments and developments to their people and the areas they represent.
While lambasting the APC government led by Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the former Deputy Senate President on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he said, this is not the APC we handed over to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
While urging the crowd that thronged out to receive him at Ughelli and Agbarho to vote for him and all candidates of NDC in the 2027 general elections, from Mr Peter Obi for President, Dcn Chris Iyovwaye for Governor, Omo-Agege for Senate, Ominimini for House Reps, Jimmy Idiovwa for Ughelli constituency I, and Dr Abel Izomare Oharume for Ughelli constituency, he said the cripples he mistakenly brought to represent the Urhobo nation in the 2023 general elections, he has returned them.
“The era of giving what belongs to the Urhobo nation to another nation at the detriment of our people will never repeat itself. The Urhobos will take their place with pride in the community of nations, Urhobo nation must stand tall again, we can afford to play second fiddle in Delta State”, Omo-Agege vowed.
Meanwhile, his Special Adviser on Strategy and Communications, Godwin Anaughe, has condemned and debunked the publication in its entirety, saying it’s the imagination of some mischievous people in the state.
