WARRI – Ahead of the 2027 general elections, Nigerians have been charged to put their trust in God, not in human beings, to achieve the desired free and fair victory in the general election.
The Bishop of Hope Alive Liberation Church, Warri, Bishop Morris Billion Djanere gave the charge on Sunday, June 7, 2026, during a Thanksgiving Service by a political movement in Delta State, “Urhobo Mudiaga Movement for Tinubu and Sheriff” at Hope Alive Liberation Church International, Warri, Delta State.
In his homily with the theme, “Faith, divine providence, and the supremacy of God in human affairs”, text: Proverb 3:5 & Jeremiah 17:7, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”

Bishop Djanere called on all Urhobo sons and daughters and Nigerians as a whole to put their trust in God alone, emphasising that true elevation, leadership, and lasting success come only through divine grace.

“God remains the ultimate source of promotion and establishment. No individual rises to a position of honour except by His will. Therefore, we must continue to trust Him completely and seek His direction in all that we do,” the cleric stated.
Speaking during the service, the President of the Urhobo Mudiaga Movement emphasised that the foundation of the movement is rooted in faith and total dependence on God, noting that the decision to hold a thanksgiving service was inspired by the conviction that all achievements and successes come from God alone.
According to him, the movement does not rely on human influence, personal connections, or material resources, but places its trust in God as the ultimate source of strength, wisdom, and victory.
He called on members and supporters to remain steadfast in their faith while actively participating in the democratic process. He appealed to eligible Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections, noting the importance of civic participation in shaping the nation’s future.
His words, “We believe that God is the giver of success and promotion. As a movement, we are committed to seeking His guidance in all our activities while encouraging our people to fulfil their civic responsibilities by participating actively in the electoral process,” he said.
The Thanksgiving Service attracted members of the movement, political supporters, community leaders, and other notable personalities across Delta State, who joined in prayers and thanksgiving for the successful inauguration of the group.
