—Registered over 400 Deltans into the Delta State Contributory Health Insurance Commission

UGHELLI – COMMITTED to its vision and mission statements of ameliorating the suffering of the less privileged and the downtrodden in the society, a humanitarian foundation in Delta State, “Olotu & Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete Foundation” registered over 400 Deltans into the Delta State Health Contributory Insurance Commission, donated educational materials to primary and secondary schools, and trained over 120 women and youths on fish farming and entrepreneurship skills recently.

Speaking to Rainbow Newspaper, the Executive Director of Olotu & Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete Foundation, Dr. Olotu Akpodiete, stated that “there is no better feeling than seeing a smile of gratitude from the heart of one uplifted or those sacred words on marble: ‘God bless You’. It is indeed Heaven on Earth.”
According to him, it is the desire, passion, and zeal of the foundation for serving humanity that have driven our impactful delivery, and we’re grateful to our like-minded partners, individuals, and corporations who have supported us on this journey.

“It has been an incredible 7 years of impactful service, and we invite those who have not joined us yet to come on board and be part of our next phase of growth and development.

Stating some of the recent achievements of the foundation in line with the foundation’s mission statement to serve humanity, he said, the foundation registered over 400 Deltans with health insurance with the Delta State Contributory Health Commission in April 2025 and organised a memorial lecture on “Essence and Benefits of Health Insurance” at Okparabe, Ughelli South local government area and Otor -Udu, Udu local government area Delta State, also organised a memorial lecture on “Conflict Resolution and Security/Safety of Community” for communities and vigilante leaders from Ughelli North and Ughelli South local government areas Delta in April 2025, in honour of Late Chief Dr. Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete’s 30th remembrance, empowered over 40 elderly women of Otor-Ihwreko Community with entrepreneurship training and soft loans, awarded cash gifts to students who participated in a debate competition hosted by Class 92 Old Boys of Government College Ughelli, Delta State.

Also, hosted a novelty football match in honour of Late Chief Dr. Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete’s 30th Remembrance, sponsored the Dean’s Cup, Faculty of Engineering, Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State, and donated security communication gadgets to communities in Ughelli North and South local government areas of Delta State.

According to him, since August 2018, when we began this walk of service to humanity, we have been able to provide personal protective materials to the Management, Staff & Students of Government College Ughelli, carry out a free community medical outreach in Otor-Ihwreko town hall and Okparabe both in Ughelli North and South local government area of Delta State, commissioning of a potable water project in Ogbavweni Grammar School, Usiefrun and Okparabe Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta Stated, Organized a Security and Safety Awareness Conference, training interested participants from a wide range of society, Award of scholarships to deserving students of Delta State University, Oleh campus, Provide Digital Marketing Skill Training to unemployed youths in Ughelli and Warri.

Award the Chief Dr. Ekuogbe Akpodiete Government Prize/Award to students at Edition of GCUOBA Awards, prizes & Testimonials (APT) & Reunion, Donate Foodstuffs and cash to Orphanage home (Rose Ilogbo Foundation & Christ Treasured Royal Ministry) in Ughelli, Delta State, Train over 120 women and youth on fish farming and Entrepreneurship skills, Donated ceiling fans to School House Hostel of Government College Ughelli, Delta State, Donation of Educational materials to students of Government College Ughelli and Eseorphe primary School in Ughelli, Delta State, and also registered over 130 Deltans with health insurance with Delta State health Contributory Commission at Otor ihwreko town hall, Ughelli North council area of Delta State, also donation of foodstuffs and educational materials to prisons in Delta State.

Earlier, the Executive Director of Olotu & Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete Foundation, Dr. Olotu Akpodiete, disclosed that the foundation will mark its 7 years of committed service delivery to communities, especially within Delta State, on August 26, 2025, at Ughelli South council hall at 10:00 am.
