Police, NFSS Arrests Ex-Convict, Armed Robbers, Cultist Recovers Beretta Pistol, Stolen Motorcycle

UGHELLI – The operatives of the Patrol Team of Eagle-Net Special Squad Asaba, on August 11, 2025, at about 1530hrs arrested an ex-convict, Precious Okoro, age 27 years of ULO Street, who had just completed his two-year jail term on August 6, 2025, in Ogwashi-uku correctional facility.

SP Edafe Bright, the Delta State police command image maker, disclosed in a press release made available to newsmen in the state.

According to him, the Patrol Team of Eagle-Net Special Squad Asaba, while on visibility patrol received a distressed call on a missing motorcycle and immediately the operatives in a joint effort with gallant officers of Nigerian Forest Security Service (NFSS) arrested one Precious Okoro age 27 years of ULO Street, Asaba, Buhari Deyegu age 18 years of Ibusa road, Asaba, and the missing motorcycle was recovered.

SP Bright disclosed further that the suspect is an ex-convict who was released from Ogwashi-uku correctional facility on August 6, 2025, after completing his jail term of two years for a similar offence of stealing a motorcycle.

The suspect returned to steal another motorcycle just five days after returning from prison.
Investigation was extended to the suspect’s residence, where a search warrant was executed, and one Tiger Generator, one big fireman generator, and one iron measuring scale were recovered.

In a similar development, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Delta State Command
On August 16, 2025, at about 0511hrs, while on stop and search along DBS road, Asaba, stopped one Bassey Udoh, age 39 years of Custom Market, Asaba, carrying a cross bag, on sighting the Police, became uncomfortable, and this prompted the Police men to search him on the spot.

Upon the search of the suspect, an English Beretta pistol was recovered. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is part of a syndicate that usually breaks into people’s homes and cart away their properties.

The suspect bought the gun for the sum of thirty thousand naira (#30,000). Suspects are in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
