ASP Julius Robinson Led Delta CP-SAT Operatives Arrest Armed Robbers, Gunrunners

*Recovers Cache of Arms, Ammunition, and stolen items

UGHELLI – The operatives of the Delta State “Commissioner of Police Special Assignment Team (CP – SAT) led by ASP Julius Robinson have arrested suspected armed robbers and gunrunners, recovered a cache of ammunition and stolen properties from the suspects.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed in a press release in Asaba, the Delta State capital, and made available to newsmen in the state.

According to the press release, acting on credible intelligence on the activities of cultists in Mosogar and its environs, the operatives on June 11, 2025, at about 0345hrs stormed the residence of one Koko Josh ‘’m”, aged 29 years, a native of Otor-Iyede community in Isoko North LGA, Delta State, resident of Adams Street, Mosoghar, and one Asomugha Clinton m”, 27 years, a native of Mbaisse Community in Ezinetthe LGA, Imo State.

During a preliminary investigation, a search warrant was executed in his premises during search, a black bag containing a Fabricated Baretta Pistol loaded with two(2) rounds of live ammunition, two (2) locally made guns, eight rounds (8) of live cartridges were recovered also recovered are multiple phones, laptops and some fetish substances.

The press release discloses that a further investigation led to the arrest of one Anthony Kelvin m” 26 years, a native of Orhoakpor Community in Ethiope East LGA, Delta State, and Gift Amotsuka m” 25 years, a native of Jakpa Community in Warri North LGA, Delta State, both residents at Adam Street Mosoghar. They are all suspected to be members of the Aiye confraternity.

In another development, Operatives at about 1600hrs of June 13, 2025, embarked on a carefully planned operation at Okpanam Area of Asaba and effected the arrest of one Ekene Chroma, f’ 36 years a native of Issele-Uku in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State, and one Okafor Jonathan m’ 18 years a native of Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State, both resident at Okpanam. Upon search, two(2) English Single Barrell and one hundred and ten (110) live cartridges were recovered.

Preliminary investigations revealed that they were suspected of being involved in the business of gun running. Suspects and exhibits are in custody while the investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has extended his deepest appreciation to members of the public who have been assisting the Police by providing useful information to the operatives, which has yielded the success records of numerous achievements.
