DELTA – AHEAD of the 2027 general elections, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), also 8the national publicity/spokesman of the Pan Niger Delta Development (PANDEF), Olorogun Christopher Emaye Obiuwevbi Ominimini, has declared his interest to run for the seat of Ughelli north, south and Udu federal constituency.

Ominimini made his intention known to elders, leaders, and APC faithful in Ughelli North, South, and Udu federal constituencies at Ughelli, the administrative headquarters of Ughelli North local government area while playing host to them.

According to him, the House of Representative seat for the Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu local government areas belong to four state constituencies (Ughelli Constituency 1 & II, Ughelli South state constituency, and Udu state constituency) made up of one federal constituency.

Speaking on fairness and equity, he said the Udu, Ughelli South, and Ughelli II constituencies have produced a House of Representative members, but Ughelli North Constituency 1 has not produced a House representative member.

“Udu, Ughelli South and Ughelli II constituencies have produced a House of Representative members, but Ughelli North constituency 1 has not produced a House representative member where I hail from; on equity, fair play, and justice, it is the turn of Ughelli Constituency 1 to produce the next member of Federal House of representative.

The former presidential campaign coordinator for President Ahmed Bola Tinubu in Delta Central cum governorship coordinator for Delta Central senatorial district in the last general elections appealed to the people of Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu federal constituencies to give them a chance to represent them at the House of Representatives come 2027 elections.

According to him, if given the opportunity, he has the interpersonal relationship to relate well with his friends and colleagues at the national assembly to bring back the dividend of democracy the soil of the constituencies, the people’s stomach, and their lives.

“If I am there, ” I have the interpersonal relationship to relate well with my friends and colleagues at the national assembly to bring back the dividend of democracy to the soil of the constituencies, the people’s stomachs, and the lives of individuals, I know the game.

“I have the temerity, boldness, courage, competence, and perseverance to represent my people, so the people of the area will benefit from my representation a lot.

“If I become the candidate of the party come 2027 it will make the work less for the party because the people I have outside politics are more than those have in politics so it will make the work free for APC and it will help the president because when you have a man well endorsed, like by everybody as a candidate it will make the people vote for the party”, he said.

When commenting on the marginalization of the Ughelli/Udu federal constituency, the House of Reps aspirant noted with dismay that the Urhobos have not gotten their fair share from the government of Nigeria as far as this federal constituency is concerned.

While assuring the dividend of democracy to the grassroots, he said, “I will ensure that we get our fair shares. FG has been employing people every time, and we have not gotten our fair share in federal government employment.

“We NNPLC, PPMC, NGC, mainstream, and others, NNPLC have over 24 subsidiaries operating in our areas, yet our people are not employed by the oil exploration companies.

“I will be a major asset to the Urhobo people, I fight to ensure that we have stated for Urhobo people, as a House of Reps member will ensure that Urhobos get their fair shares in the scheme of FG activities not just for my mandate areas alone but I will be a major asset to the whole of the Niger Delta region.

“Traditional rulers will benefit from my representation, we need a capable person for the position, I have been groomed, I know what is a state and the attributes of a state, I know what will benefit our people, if there is anything that is not good for our its is not good for the entire country.

“We are the ones feeding Nigeria. Therefore, we will not get anything less; we have not been getting anything from the national as expected; the entire people of this constituency and beyond will benefit from my representation if elected,” he assured.
