DELTA – THE Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Oil & Gas, Chief Edafevwotu Akpos has congratulated Dr. Austin Avuru following his well deserved appointment into Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) as Non-Executive Director (South South) by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).

Akpos described Dr. Austin Avuru as a world-class oil and gas expert and a pace-setter with years of experience spanning decades in the Nigerian and global oil space thus his appointment into NNPCL Board is putting a square peg in a square hole.

In his congratulatory message, chief Akpos charged the newly appointed board members of NNP to be inspired by President Tinubu’s bold ambition to make NNPC Limited a global player in the oil and gas sector.

“Given President Tinubu’s vision of increasing investment in the oil industry to $30 billion by 2027 and $60 billion by 2030, your appointment is a deliberate one to leverage on your sterling antecedents and expertise. You are excellently equipped to impact on Mr. President’s achievable plan and I am confident that your passion for the industry will be brought to bear in the task ahead”.

The Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s EA on Oil & Gas used the opportunity to thank His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President and Commander in-Chief of the Armed forces of Nigeria for finding their son worthy of the appointment into the exalted office.

He also congratulated Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari who was appointed the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) as well as Ahmadu Musa Kida who emerged the non-executive chairman.

Chief Akpos,thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori a driving environment and conducive atmosphere for exploration of oil and gas in the state.
