Delta 2027: Ughelli South PDP Holds Strategic Unity Meeting, Assures Of Victory
•Passed confidence vote in PDP National, State, and LGA leaders

OTU-JEREMI – AS the race to the government house, Asaba, gathered momentum every second, the main opposition party in Delta State, the People Democratic Party (PDP) has on Wednesday January 14, 2026 held a powerful strategic unity meeting at Otu-Jeremi.

Speaking at Otu-Jeremi the administrative headquarters of Ughelli South local government area of Delta State in a well-attended executive committee meeting of the PDP with leaders and stakeholders held at the residence of Hon. Michael Oghenegweke, the LGA Chairman of PDP, Hon. Chief Godwin Apkokemerha emphasized the need for unity among members to achieve electoral victory in 2027.

Also speaking during the strategic unity meeting, Hon. Chief Jabin Ighomena expressed optimism that PDP will win all the elective positions come the 2027 general elections, adding that the massive attendance at the meeting is a testament that PDP is stronger after the national convention.

He conveyed the greetings of the South South Chairman of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Sir Emmanuel Ogidi.
Among those present at the Strategic Unity Meeting are General Charles Akatakpo, Prophet Sir J.K. Adafan, Chief Pa. FullPower, Chief James Shaguolo, and Hon. Michael Oghengweke. They all condemned the defection rumors being made around the table, stating that they remain PDP members.
The climax of the meeting is a vote of confidence passed in the national, state, and LGA leadership of the PDP.
