UGHELLI – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Ughelli, the administrative headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, ahead of the 2027 general elections, endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the sole presidential and governorship candidates of APC.
The motion for the endorsement of the duo of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori was moved by the incumbent member representing Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Francis Waive, and seconded by Hon. Halims Agoda. It was unanimously endorsed when it was put to a voice vote by Senator Ede Dafinone representing the Delta Central Senatorial District.
The endorsement was the high peak part of the APC Delta Central Peace Meeting held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Wetland Hotel Ughelli.
It was a convergence of the political gladiators cutting across the entire Urhobo nation coming together to further consolidate the gains of the recent merger of the APC and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State.
Speaking at the gathering, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, said the meeting aims to unify both the old and new leaders of APC in Delta Central Senatorial District, noting that the unity will trickle down to the local government areas, wards, and unit levels.
Olorogun Keyamo acknowledged that the meeting was very strategic as it was the first time Urhobo political leaders and elders were coming together under one political party to speak with one voice.
He hailed President Tinubu’s well-calculated and strategic economic policies, which have already started yielding positive results in the resuscitation of the nation’s economy.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development also lauded Governor Oborevwori for his unprecedented development strides across the state describing him as God’s gift to Delta State.
