BOMADI – Ex-Niger Delta militant code-named Gen. Meshach Ogbona has commended the administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) for his visionary leadership geared to transform the Niger Delta region.
Ogbona gave the commendation recently in Bomadi while speaking to the Rainbow Newspaper.
According to him, since the appointment of Dr. Dennis Otuaro by President Bola Tinubu on March 14, 2024, as the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), unprecedented reforms and achievements have been brought to the programme.
Gen. Ogbona noted that Dr. Otuaro’s leadership has been instrumental in repositioning the PAP for greater service delivery to the Niger Delta.
“His efforts reflect a commitment to improving livelihoods and fostering opportunities for communities in the Niger Delta region.
“His collaboration with stakeholders of the Niger Delta region is pivotal to Niger Delta freedom and unity, which brought the programme into purposeful alignment with regional aspirations, exemplifying leadership with sterling qualities that earned profound trust and confidence.
“Since his appointment, he has brought transformative reforms that have redefined the programme’s impact. He has introduced innovative strategies aimed at enhancing the reintegration of ex-agitators, fostering sustainable development in the Niger Delta, and ensuring the programme fulfils its mandate with greater efficiency and accountability. Gen. Ogbona noted.
“I, Gen. Meshach Ogbona, advised that those who have written petitions against the Amnesty office should reconsider their stance. I urge them to withdraw such petitions and instead come forward with constructive formulas to support High Chief. Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, PhD, in his tenure.
“By doing so, we all — stakeholders and beneficiaries — will collectively enjoy the program’s benefits together,” reflecting a call for unified backing. He advised.
