INSECURITY: “My Life Is At Risk” Says Ughelli North Council Boss, Jaro Egbo

•Urged Delta CP to rejig Ughelli police command, promised police operational vehicle

UGHELLI – Ughelli North council boss, Olorogun Omovudu Jaro Egbo has cried to the Delta State police command that his life is at risk, urged the Delta State Commissioner of police to rejig Ughelli police command.
Egbo, made the call recently in Ughelli while playing host to the immediate past Delta State Commissioner of police, CP Ania during his familiarization tour to the palace of the great Ughelli kingdom.
While calling on the Delta State police command to reign Ughelli police command, he disclosed that since the deployment of CP-SAT led by ASP Julius Robinson to Ughelli the people of Ughelli and its environs were sleeping with their two eyes closed.
While lamenting the return of insecurity to Ughelli North headquarters, Egbo disclosed that some powerful power influential in the state have petitioned the police zone 5, and some of the gallant police officers attached to the CP-SAT were detained at zone 5 for the good works they are doing to save lives and properties.
“I want to commend the CP-SAT led by ASP Julius Robinson he was able to make several arrests and kidnapping activities were brought to the minimum level but today the story is different it’s like we are returning to the days before i resumed office. Our inquiry was that some of the men that were working with ASP Julius Robinson led CP-SAT in doing the work to keep us alive were detained in Zone 5.
“I want to use this opportunity, I don’t know what happened, to plead with the police command that, since that team has been crippled, kidnapping has come back to Ughelli and they are viral.
“As at the time I resumed office, the security situation in Ughelli North was very bad, bad to the extent that you can hardly approach Ughelli if you are coming from Port Harcourt and from Warri by Uvwiamuge where you have UPU house. It was a daily occurrence for kidnappers and Killing, kidnapping was very rampant within the town, the secret court, and all of that.
While calling on the police and relevance authority that his life is at risk, he disclosed that three persons were kidnapped in his community and the kidnappers are demanding for N100M ransom.
“I made a personal petition to the area commander that my life is at risk, in my own community where am dwelling three persons were kidnapped, they are demanding for N100M ransom though nothing has been done, I want to plead with you that let us not lose what we have gained so far.
“Since ACP Shaba left Ughelli Police Command to Warri it is very difficult for us now to sleep with our two eyes closed in Ughelli. I want to plead with you to rejig the Ughelli Police command.
“We cannot always get zero criminality, but we are very uncomfortable that these people are coming back in two forms and nothing is happening to them.
“Energizing the CP-SAT led ASP Julius Robinson so that they can go to work, I also want to use this opportunity to say I will give them a an operational vehicle to help them in their operations”.
