IMPERSONATION: NFSS dismisses DC Peter Obus from its service for impersonating the IGP, an illegal activity
By Matthias Ogbagah
For “continually contravening certain sections of NFSS codes with your actions and inactions”, the Nigeria Forest Security Service ( NFSS), has disengaged the services of a Deputy Commander ( DC), Mr. Peter Obus, with effect from November 8, 2025.
Accordingly, he has been directed to submit all NFSS properties in his possession, including the membership ID card, to the Delta State.

According to a dismissal letter dated 8th November 2025, endorsed by Akeem Oseni, ACG Administration, NFSS National Headquarters, FCT, Abuja, the embattled DC Peter Obus, despite a 2nd July 2024 letter of suspension from the service after a series of warnings for gross misconduct, unruly behaviour, and several breaches of the code of conduct of the service, in addition to a November 11 2024 decision by the National Executive Committee to magnanimously give him a second chance by reinstating him after admonishing him to be of good behaviour, had continually contravened the basic laid down code of conduct of the NFSS.

The dismissal letter reads in part: “Having exhausted all available disciplinary actions to correct you, but all efforts are in futility, the National Executive Council has taken a final action by approving your dismissal from the NFSS to serve as a deterrent to other officers”.
Sources at the Nigeria Forest Security Service ( NFSS), disclosed that the dismissed Deputy Commander of the Delta State Service of the NFSS, allegedly forged the signature of the Inspector-General of Police, alluding to himself in the forged Identity Card with the Nigeria Police Force logo in collaboration with NFSS, as a Deputy Superintendent of Police ( DSP).
It would be recalled that in the March edition of the Pointer Newspaper publication he addressed himself as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

He had also engaged in fraudulent activities by issuing the same ID cards to over 100 unsuspecting job seekers who were recruited into the NFSS as Intelligence officers, after extorting various sums of money from them.
The dismissal letter has been copied to the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC), the Commanding officer of the 63 Brigade of the Nigeria Army, Asaba, the Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA), and the Director of State Services ( DSS) Delta State, respectively.
