Governorship Sheriff Oborevwori has not defected to the APC. I challenge him to prove me wrong by displaying the proof that he has joined.

Politics is local in Nigeria. Irrespective of position or status, every political party’s rules of engagement stipulate that you join, resign, and defect through your home Ward.

The PDP, which Oborvwori is claiming to be defecting from, has sacked a National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, through a resolution of his ward leadership.

All the drama of a London meeting with President Tinubu, the meetings in Abuja and the shamelessness Festus Keyamo led gullible Delta Senators and Reps members to display at Asaba can best be described as mere consultation towards joining the APC.

All of these dramas again affirm that these politicians don’t care about the common good. It’s always appalling how the stereotypically depraved Nigerian politicians can easily trade their self-esteem, integrity, and even their souls for the display of false loyalty for political patronage and stomach infrastructure.

Festus Keyamo, chief probity, and accountability advocate, a SAN, was among the most vociferous in the failed bid to stop Oborevwori, who muscled themself into being governor with ‘cut and nail’ credentials. It is appalling that today, Keyamo has shamelessly transformed into a chief campaigner for Oborevwori’s second-term bid.

Keyamo has suddenly become the most gullible promoter of misgovernment over Delta, blabbing that three ongoing flyover projects now make Oborevwori unbeatable for the 2027 race when in neighboring Rivers state, a single Port Harcourt Ring Road project by embattled Governor Siminalayi Fubara has more than double Oborevwori’s three flyover projects.

It is so appalling that months after harping that Oborevwori is not qualified to lace his shoes and that Oborevwori shouldn’t count in the choice of Delta governor where he is, another lawyer, Sen Ned Nwoko, has eaten his words and is now smiling like ‘mumu’ as Keyamo glorifies Oborevwori as “Our Undisputed Leader.” Oborevwori has become lord over Nwoko, Emerhor, Omo-Agege, and everyone with a name in Delta APC.

Because Oborevwori is under pressure to open Delta vaults for ‘PDP share the money’ to ‘APC share the money,’ Keyamo and Nwoko now believe in the blind and ignorant, leading the full-sighted and informed. A pity.

Keyamo, a Lagos, Abuja politician who only accepts he is an Ephron (Effurun) Deltan when election approaches is quick to fly into Asaba to glorify Oborevwori as the 2027 unbeatable guber aspirant.

Keyamo, weeks after they were appointed Aviation Minister, played to the gallery that President Tinubu had approved an N2Billion upgrade for the Osubi Airstrip. While I queried that the approval wasn’t enough for the expansion Osubi needs, he hasn’t even been forthcoming to do the N2Billion work many months after. He may never bring any tangible project to Delta before he exits office.

So he is Aviation Minister, but can’t fly directly into Delta state to access his Ephron (Effurun) home community. He would need to land in neighboring Edo state and drive a collapsed Benin-Effurun Road to reach his Ephron (Effurun) hometown. 

His ministerial appointment is not finding any expression in the development of Delta, but it’s easy for him to defend that an unfit governor running from his drowning PDP is unbeatable in the coming 2027 guber race for Delta. Clowns and greedy gluttons are everywhere in Delta State.

Agreed Governor Oborevwori and Okowa have indicated interest in joining APC, but there is yet no evidence to show that Oborevwori and Okowa have resigned their membership of PDP in their home wards and no evidence to show they have joined APC at their home wards.

Oborevwori and Okowa can’t defect to APC at Asaba, Abuja, and on the media. Do Oborevwori and Okowa vote in Asaba or Abuja during elections? Oborevwori, at all costs, wants to have one leg on PDP and one on APC. It’s Delta’s treasury he wants to empty to share all over the place to please the expectant gluttons who have sold their souls to glorify him.

It will never be well with the hijackers of power impoverishing Delta state and escalating mass poverty and hunger for the majority in a state so blessed by God.
