Delta APC Stakeholders Meeting: Omo-Agege Commends Gov Oborevwori, Vows To Work With Him

The immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State for his leadership style, promised to work in unity with the governor and other stakeholders of the APC to strengthen the party.

Sen. Omo-Agege gave the commendation and the promise during the Delta APC stakeholder meeting held on Friday at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Asaba.
According to him, his philosophy of public governance and his guiding principle remain service to the people, stressing that leadership must be anchored on commitment, humility, and collective responsibility for development.
His words, “I will work with everyone, by God’s grace, to lift Delta State.” Unity among leaders and stakeholders was critical to achieving meaningful progress across the state.
Omo-Agege reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing his backing for the President as firm and enduring in the interest of national growth and stability.
While assuring Governor Oborevwori of his willingness to collaborate in strengthening governance and deepening the ruling party’s influence across Delta State, he said:
“With my commitment to a legacy of qualitative governance, I am ready to work with His Excellency to strengthen our party and deliver on its promises to our people,” he said.

He added that the ultimate goal of the partnership was to make Delta State a better place for all, insisting that sustained cooperation and people-centred policies would remain the cornerstone of his political engagement.
He described his visit to Government House after many years as a gesture of inclusiveness.
Addressing the leaders and members of APC during the high-level meeting of the APC that underscored unity, E-Registration, grassroots mobilisation, and preparedness ahead of forthcoming party congresses, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori stressed that leadership derives its legitimacy from the people and must be guided by humility, empathy, and service.
He urged stakeholders to place collective interest above personal considerations, resist division and avoid unnecessary conflicts, noting that unity remains the party’s greatest strength.
According to the governor, the meeting would provide opportunities to review progress, strengthen structures, and prepare for critical political milestones, stressing that mobilisation, registration, and participation would ultimately determine electoral outcomes.
On his part, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo, SAN, urged members to maintain focus as the party approaches congresses, praising the progress recorded in the e-registration exercise and the party’s growing diversity.
Keyamo called for early engagement and consensus-building at the local level and advised dialogue to reduce tension.
Meanwhile, the former Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, emphasised inclusiveness and consensus in the conduct of congresses, praising Governor Oborevwori’s role in fostering harmony and urging leaders to return to their constituencies with renewed commitment and intensified grassroots mobilisation to deepen e-registration.
