CP-SAT Arrests Suspected Kidnappers, Recovered AK-47 Rifle, Two Pump Action Guns, Ammunition

*As Operatives of RRS arrested suspected cultists, recovered one Beretta Pistol, cultist regalia

UGHELLI – DELTA State Commissioner of police’s Special Assignment Team, code-named “CP-SAT,” led by ASP Julius Robinson, with operatives of X-Squad and Buffalo Patrol Teams of the command, stormed a suspected criminal hideout along Ibusa road and arrested a notorious suspected male kidnapper known as Chiadiji Collins AKA “Smooth,” age 42 years.

The state command police public relations officers, SP Edafe Bright disclosed in a press release made available to newsmen at Asaba.
According to SP Bright, Chiadiji Collins AKA “Smooth”, age 42 years, has been on the command’s watchlist for a series of kidnapping activities within Ibusa / Ogwashi-Uku and Asaba axis.

The statement stated in parts, “Acting on credible intelligence on the activities of some suspected kidnappers in Ogwashi-Uku, Ubuluku and Isseluku, on July 27, 2025 at about 0120hrs, operatives of CP-Special Assignment Team ( CP-SAT ) led by ASP Julius Robinson in a combined effort with operatives from the command’s X-Squad and Buffallo Patrol Teams of the command stormed a suspected criminal hideout along Ibusa road and effected the arrest of a notorious suspected kidnapper known as Chiadiji Collins AKA “Smooth” ‘m’ 42yrs who has been on the command’s watchlist for series of kidnapping activities within Ibusa / Ogwashi-Uku and Asaba axis.

“Upon interrogation of the suspect, he led operatives to his residence at Ewulu community in Aniocha South local government area, Delta State where a search warrant was executed during which one AK-47 rifle, forty (40) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were recovered”.

The press release stated further that a preliminary investigation led to the arrest of one Ezechie Andrew of the same community, in whose possession two pump-action guns and two live cartridges were recovered.

Both suspects are gang members suspected to be involved in a series of kidnappings in Ogwashi-Uku, Isseluku, and other parts of Delta State. They are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

In a related development, the operatives of the Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS), while acting on credible information, stormed a criminal hideout at Big Gate, Campus III, Abraka, where one Benjamin Okwufulueze, 21 years, Augustine Ifeanyi, 22 years, and Iruma Japheth, 27 years, were arrested. One fabricated Beretta pistol with four live rounds of ammunition was recovered.

“On July 30, 2025 at about 0630hrs, operatives of the Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) while acting on credible information stormed a criminal hideout at Big Gate, Campus iii, Abraka where one Benjamin Okwufulueze 21 years, Augustine Ifeanyi 22 years, Iruma Japheth 27 years, were arrested and one fabricated beretta pistol with four live ammunition were recovered”.

Also recovered were one black cap with Eiye inscription and one battle axe. Suspects confessed to being members of Eiye confraternity. All suspects are in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, urges parents and guardians to discourage their children and wards from all forms of criminality and cult related activities, and also advises members of the public to contact the Police and report any suspicious persons or movements in their environment.
