CLERIC AWARDS BURSARY TO 105 CHURCH MEMBERS IN DELTA

SUCCOR as the Archbishop of Christ Missionaries Crusaders Church, Archbishop Goddowell Avwomakpa awarded bursary support of N30,000.00 each to 105 members of his church who are students in various tertiary institutions across the country.
Speaking during the presentation of the bursary award, the revered cleric said the initiative was part of the church’s efforts to cushion the effects of the prevailing economic downturn on students and to provide relief to parents who are struggling to sponsor their children and wards in higher institutions.
According to him, the church considers education a vital tool for empowerment and societal development, emphasizing that the bursary support was a tangible demonstration of the church’s commitment to the welfare and advancement of its members.
In his homily titled “Passion for Souls,” Archbishop Avwomakpa, drawing inspiration from Mark 1:38 and Mark 16:15, emphasized that the mission of the church remains focused on soul-winning and the spiritual development of people.
He emphasized the importance of members remaining committed to evangelism and service to humanity, noting that empowering people both spiritually and socially remained a key priority for the church.
The Archbishop also used the occasion to announce a forthcoming National Crusade of the church scheduled to be held in Obiaruku from March 27 to March 29, 2026.
Beneficiaries expressed excitement and appreciation to the Archbishop for the gesture, noting that the support would go a long way in assisting them with their academic needs.
They described the bursary as timely and impactful, pledging to remain focused on their studies and make the church proud through academic excellence.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Umunu Oghenefejiro Deborah of Delta State University, Abraka; Ejairu Clemetina; Agision Great of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun; Ukpebor Naomi Pleasant of the College of Education, Warri; and Maika Gabriella and Okoro Great Edesiri of Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, expressed gratitude to Archbishop Avwomakpa for the support.
