Christmas Cantata: HRM Oharisi III Urges Christians All Over The World To Emulate Christ’s Life
By Matthias Ogbagah
UGHELLI – The monarch (Ovie) of the great ancient Ughelli Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Evang. (Prof) Wilson Ojakovo Oharisi 111 (JP+) has urged all Christians to emulate the life of Jesus Christ and uphold the true essence of Christmas by celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ with genuine faith, unity, and love for one another.

The monarch made the call during a Christmas Cantata service held at the palace chapel on Christmas Day, where community members gathered to mark the season through songs, dances, sharing of the Word of God, and the giving of arms.

According to him, Christmas is not merely a social event but a profound reminder of the coming of Jesus Christ, which should be openly celebrated by all who profess the Christian faith.
While disclosing that he has handed Ughelli over to God, he said it is proper that he celebrate Christmas with his people.

“If we can celebrate the Iherin festival and dedicate it to Jesus, then there is no reason not to celebrate Christmas, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ. Leaders need to celebrate with their people, their families and friends, in joy and unity.”

He described the Christmas Cantata as a spiritual gathering centred on worship, explaining that the concept of a cantata involves singing, dancing, and listening to the Word of God.

He added that such gatherings should also reflect Christian love through hospitality, including the provision of food and drinks for the people.
The traditional ruler noted that Christmas is a season of giving and sharing, stressing that the celebration is meant for everyone.

He urged Christians to use the occasion to reaffirm their faith and live out the values of Christianity.

“With God, all things are possible,” the monarch said, adding that belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God is the foundation of true Christianity and the pathway to God’s blessings and eternal life, as taught in the Bible.
