*Vow to deliver PDP in 2027 as PDP chieftains held a strategic meeting in Ekiugbo-Ughelli

UGHELLI – The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ughelli North chapter is in turmoil following the mass defection of APC members to the main opposition party, Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, as PDP Ughelli North received their prodigal members, who vowed to deliver PDP come the 2027 general elections.
Determined to restore the dwindling PDP in Delta State, the stalwarts of the PDP in Delta State, particularly in Ughelli North local government area of the state, have since Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and many other PDP members defected to APC, holding series of meetings to restore the lost glory of the party (PDP) in the state.

Speaking during the PDP familiarization meeting at Elder Ayoro Akpotu resident in Ekiugbo-Ughelli in Ughelli North local government area, the Acting chairman of PDP Ughelli North, Hon. Daniel Emaye, assured of party victory come the 2027 general elections.
Emaye expressed satisfaction at the handful of PDP members who were deceived into abandoning their party and pitching their tent with APC, but made a u-turn to their original party.
“They were once prodigal members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), but they realized they were misled and turned back home to their roots.
“They were like the biblical prodigal son who wasted his father’s wealth, and when he realized himself, he turned to his father and his father welcomed him back.
“These PDP lost sheep were found and brought back home. Our duty is to receive them to their family party”.
The defectors were led by a former House of Assembly aspirant in the 2023 general election, Mr. Fred Mukoro.
Speaking on behalf of the PDP returnees, Mukoro promised that he will do his best to ensure PDP is delivered in Ekiugbo and its neighbouring Communities come 2027.
According to him, he has come to realise that PDP is a united Party despite the defections of some disgruntled leaders, yet the party remains focused and united.
He commended PDP Ughelli North Acting chairman, Hon. Daniel Emaye, and PDP Ughelli Ward 1/5 chairman, Prince Jude Oharisi, for their steadfastness, faithfulness, and their efforts towards the restoration of PDP in the Ughelli North local government area.
The defectors pledge their loyalty to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and promise to work in unity with the party.
Amongst those present at the meeting are; the Acting Secretary of PDP Ughelli North, Comr. Efe Oberiki, Ughelli North Ward 1/5 chairman, Prince Jude Oharisi, Ward 1/5 Auditor, Comrade Pepper, Elder Abraka, Elder Akpotu Ayoro, Hon. Joel Majemite, SSA to the former Governor of Delta. Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa.
Others are Comrade Happy Eshenuwa, Comrade. Anthony Akposheri, Comr. Lugard Ebiguvwere. Mrs Monica Kesiena Ughelli North Ward 1/5 women leader, Evangelist Doro Gbagbeke, Elder Oyibo Umukoro, Mrs.Oyibo Comr. Commander, and Mrs. Ufuoma Iwhiwhavwe Peis.
