AGBARHO – The Executive Assistant to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Oil and Gas matters in the state, Chief Edafevwotu Akpos has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the executive chairman of Ughelli North local government area, and Agbarho monarch, HRM Samson Owhe Ogugu, Osuivie of Agbarho kingdom for their quick response and intervention in children abduction in Agbarho.
It would be recalled that the women of Agbarho kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government recently took to the streets of Agbarho in a peaceful protest over the abduction of over twenty-six (26) children by unknown persons in the space of two months.
In a viral protest video, the protesting women accused the security agencies of turning a deaf ear and a blind eye to the security challenges in Agbarho.
While commending the prompt intervention of the trio of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Hon Jaro Egbo, and HRM Samson Owhe Ogugu, Chief Akpos noted that the quick intervention of the state governor will not only stem the menace of child abduction in Agbarho kingdom and Ughelli North as a whole but it will bring an end to the nefarious activities of the criminals in the state.
Chief Akpos, who is a respected chief of Agbarho kingdom, gave the commendation in a press statement signed by him and made available to newsmen at Agbarho shortly after the governor’s fact-finding delegation into the children abduction saga in Agbarho on Saturday, June 7, 2027.
While calling on parents to be vigilant about their children and wards, he appealed to the protesting women of Agbarho to calm down, assuring that the state government will get to the root of the problem and those found culpable will be brought to book.
Chief Akpos noted that since the emergence of Olorogun Jaro Egbo as the executive chairman of Ughelli North council area, the council chairman has been working hard to ensure the people of the council area sleep with their two eyes closed.
He wooed the cooperative, the security agencies, and well-meaning Ughelli North people to collaborate with the chairman to win the fight against crime in the council area.
