UGHELLI – The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Council, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, has described the just-concluded APC Ward Congress as a well-organized, free, fair, and transparent across-wards, including Ughelli, Ogor, Orogun, Agbarho, Agbarha, Uwheru, and Evwreni wards.
Speaking to newsmen at the venue of the congress, Egbo hinted that Ughelli North is politically sophisticated to win all elective positions come the 2027 general elections.
According to him, Ughelli North has the highest number of registered voters in the whole of Delta state.
His words, “We have concluded consultations and agreed to adopt consensus in line with the party constitution. Everywhere is calm and peaceful,” Egbo said.
He emphasized that Ughelli North, known for its large voter population and political awareness, remains united in its support for the APC, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Governor Oborevwori.
Also speaking to journalists at Ward 1/5, APC chieftain, Olorogun Fred Majemite, praised the peaceful atmosphere of the congress, noting that party leaders ensured inclusiveness throughout the process. He expressed confidence that the APC would secure a decisive victory in the 2027 elections.

According to him, he is not aware of any strong opposition party in the state, though I am aware of some pockets of parties in the state. They’ve always been there.
“But you can imagine where you now have the former PDP in Delta State fusing with the APC where is the opposition again? It can’t be strong again now. Let’s be realistic. It cannot be strong”.
Majemite urged all Deltans to join hands with Governor Oborrvwori’s government to do more for Deltans, adding that he has done well for Deltans.
On her part, the former National Woman Leader of the party and Executive Director, Business Development at NEXIM Bank, Stella Okotete, commended the inclusiveness of the congress, highlighting the emergence of women in key positions such as vice chairman, welfare officer, treasurer, and assistant youth leader.
“The women of Delta are ready. The APC constitution guarantees women’s participation, and Delta State is fully implementing those provisions. Today’s peaceful exercise demonstrates our preparedness for future elections,” she said.
Overall, stakeholders across Delta State described the ward congress as peaceful, transparent, and reflective of the growing unity within the APC as the party positions itself strongly for future electoral contests.
