NUJ Ughelli Correspondents Chapel Congratulates Festus Ahon on Justice of Peace Conferment

UGHELLI – The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ughelli Correspondents Chapel, Comrade Mathias Ogbagah, and the entire members of the chapel congratulated Chief Sir Festus Ahon, the pioneer Chairman of the NUJ Ughelli Correspondents Chapel and current Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor on his conferment as a Justice of Peace by the Delta State Government.

He emphasized that the conferment reflects Chief Ahon’s dedication, integrity, and unflinching commitment to the growth of both the media profession and the Delta State in general.
Chief Ahon, widely respected for his professionalism and leadership, continues to serve as a role model to journalists and public servants alike, inspiring a new generation to uphold the highest standards of ethics and service.
The NUJ Ughelli Correspondents Chapel joins other well-wishers across the state in celebrating this milestone achievement, recognizing it as a testament to Chief Ahon’s outstanding contributions to society.
It is worth recalling that Ahon, alongside 65 others, was honoured on Monday by the State Ministry of Justice.
The Swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Justice M.Gesikeme at High Court 1, Ughelli, Ughelli North Council Area of Delta State, with the charge to the new JP’s to maintain peace in their respective Communities.
Fielding questions from journalists shortly after the ceremony, he thanked God for the honour bestowed on him and pledged not to betray the confidence in him.
He also thanked the State Government for the honour and restated his resolve to keep peace wherever he finds himself.
He maintained that the development effort of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration in the state can only be sustained in an atmosphere of peace.
