I’ll Prioritise Safety Of Lives And Properties In Ughelli North Says Lt. Col.Ochasi

UGHELLI – The Commanding Officer (CO) of 181 Amphibious Battalion of the Nigerian Army Command, Agbon Sub-Zone, Lieutenant Colonel, NP Ochasi, has promised to prioritize the safety of lives and properties in Ughelli North and Delta State as a whole.

Lt.Colonel NP Ochasi made the promise when he paid a familiarization visit to the Ughelli North council boss, Hon Jaro Egbo, on Friday, February 13, 2026, in his office.
Lt. Col. Ochasi, who was accompanied by the commanding Officer of the Operation Delta Sweep, Ughelli North/ South Zone, Major Babayemi, said his primary objective is to acquaint himself with the Council Chairman to foster a harmonious relationship that would ensure effective security of the local government area.

Earlier, he commended the council chairman for his support towards the well-being of his personnel stationed in Ughelli North, adding that his efforts will not go unrewarded.

Responding, the Ughelli North council boss, Barr. Jaro Egbo commended the Commanding Officer for his efforts in maintaining peace and safety among his constituents through his team and encouraged him to continue in his commendable work.

Egbo informed the Commanding Officer of the activities of herdsmen in the council area, with special attention to the  Ohoro/ Agadama Axis of the council area in the past years.

Egbo noted with deep pain over the nefarious activities of the herdsmen in his council area, which have led to unfortunate losses of lives and properties.

While pledging his unalloyed support and collaboration with all security operatives operating within the local government area to ensure the safety of the lives and properties in Ughelli North, he wooed the CO and his men to restore peace to the council area.
