UGHELLI – A chieftain of the People Democratic Party (PDP), also a House of Assembly hopeful for Ughelli North Constituency 2 in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, Hon. Oke Umurhohwo who is a member of the PDP Contact and Mobilisation Sub-Committee in the just concluded PDP 2025 National Convention, has joined the rest millions of Nigerians to congratulated the newly elected National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Turaki (SAN) on his well deserved victory.
In a statement issued on Monday and personally signed by him and made available to Rainbow Newspaper in Delta State, he described Kabiru Turaki (SAN )’s emergence as “timely, unifying, and deeply reassuring” for party faithful across the country.
Umurhohwo said that Turaki’s election is a reflection of the confidence the party has in his competence, integrity, and long-standing record of national service.
“Kabiru Turaki (SAN) has, over the years, distinguished himself through exemplary leadership as a former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs. His emergence at this crucial moment signals a renewed opportunity to strengthen internal democracy, rebuild trust, and reposition our party for a more impactful future.”
Umurhohwo noted that the 2025 convention, held in Ibadan, showcased the resilience and commitment of PDP members nationwide, adding that Turaki’s leadership will be central to harnessing that momentum as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
He expressed confidence that the new chairman will provide the direction needed to unite diverse interests within the party and steer it toward a stronger, people-focused opposition.
“I am confident that his tenure will bring renewed stability and purposeful leadership to the PDP. This is not just a win for him; it is a win for every member who believes in a credible, inclusive, and revitalized party,” he added.
Umurhohwo wished Turaki a successful tenure and reaffirmed his commitment to the party’s growth and unity.
