UGHELLI – Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ughelli North ward 1/5 passed a confident vote in President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Hon. Jars Egbo, canvassed support for the trio of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Jaro Egbo, emphasizing the importance of the Permanent Voters Card (PVC).
The call was made during the inaugural maiden meeting of the newly inaugurated ward executive members of APC Ughelli ward 1/5 with the elders, leaders, and stakeholders of the party.
While expressing their commitment to unity, discipline, and electoral success, they noted that Ward 1/5 hitherto known for internal crime has now emerged stronger and more cohesive.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the party,
Chief Fred Majemite, described the meeting as a turning point for the ward, noting that the era of division has given way to collaboration and shared purpose.

He emphasised that the ward, being urban and politically significant, must lead by example in delivering overwhelming support for the APC just as he urged the leaders of the party to intensify efforts on the collection of PVC adding that it is the only weapon for achieving electoral victory.
“We have come together as one body. There is no more division. Our task now is clear—to deliver the party at all levels.
“We are not just preparing to win; we are preparing to win overwhelmingly. There is no vacancy in Aso Rock and no vacancy in Osadeby House,” he declared.
He commended the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his impactful infrastructural development, particularly the ongoing flyover projects and road construction in the council area and the state as a whole.
He added that the performance of both the governor and the Ughelli North Local Government Chairman has justified the confidence reposed in them by the people.
On his political ambition for 2027, Majemite revealed that he has been encouraged to contest the Delta Central Senatorial seat but noted that he is still consulting and seeking divine direction before making a final decision.
On his part, the council chairman, Jaro Egbo urged party faithful to remain obedient to leadership and committed to internal processes that will produce credible candidates capable of effective representation, particularly in the forthcoming House of Representatives elections.
Egbo assured the party’s readiness to foster unity among members while ensuring that the best candidates will emerge through consensus where necessary.
Earlier, the APC Ughelli North Ward 1/5 Chairman, Pastor Peter Odokuma, while giving reasons for the meeting, said, the meeting is to formally introduce the newly elected ward executives to party members and to appreciate the party’s leaders for the confidence reposed in them.

Odokuma expressed optimism about the party’s prospects, stating that APC in Ughelli North is experiencing unprecedented unity and growth.
“We are coming at a time when the party is stronger than ever. What we are witnessing now is total harmonisation. This unity will translate into victory in the coming elections,” he said.
He commended the council chairman for his initiatives including decongesting marketplaces, environmental sanitation, and ongoing projects such as the Cottage Hospital and improvements at the council secretariat.
According to him, the party would prioritise internal democracy in its primaries while promoting consensus among aspirants to avoid conflict and ensure a united front.
His words, “Our focus is to produce candidates that truly represent the interests of the people. Where necessary, we will harmonise and adopt consensus to strengthen the party,” he stated.
